About Me

Shannon Ragan

profile.png

I am a fiction writer and freelance marketer living in St. Louis, MO, with my husband, five-year-old daughter, and far too many house plants. I earned my BA in creative writing from Webster University, and have been press ganging friends into workshops ever since. In 2014, I moved to the Bay Area and worked in content marketing for cybersecurity and open source intelligence. In 2020, I moved back to my hometown, reuniting with my family, book club, and Midwestern housing prices.

I write historical fiction full of characters on the brink, for readers who love a slow burn, a dark tale, and a wild, wild sea.

COMPLETE

Lost

A shipwreck casts an unrepentant convict and a faithless chaplain into the open sea. One seeks freedom, the other forgiveness. Both will learn the depths of what it means to be lost.

IN PROGRESS

A Farm at the End of the World

A garden buried in snow. A seed bank under siege. An indoor farm in an inhospitable future. Three women try to protect what they love in times where precious things cannot survive.
